Frequently asked questions
What is Fireteam Breach?
Fireteam Breach is a realistic tactical FPS influenced by other shooters like Rainbow Six Siege, Ready or Not, Unrecord, and more. It is unique in that we have dynamic matches, meaning each map is more unique than most games. We have features like weather and time of day that are unique to each match. One match can have clear skies in the afternoon, and the next can feature a thunderstorm at night. This makes for more dynamic gameplay and increases the need for better strategies. We also listen to the community, with the goal of making sure they drive the creativity of the game, not just pro league feedback.
What platforms will Fireteam Breach be available on?
Fireteam Breach launches on PC through Steam and the Epic Games Store. PS5 and Xbox Series X/S versions are planned, with cross-platform support. We will also have filtering options to allow players to play in console-only or PC-inclusive matches.
When is the release date?
Fireteam Breach launches in March 2027. A free demo is playable during Steam Next Fest, February 22 to March 1, 2027.
How much will Fireteam Breach cost?
Fireteam Breach will be $19.99 USD on all platforms.
What game modes will be available?
We’ll feature Bomb, Breach and Hold, and Hostage game modes, with both competitive and non-competitive options. The competitive modes are ranked and will have multiple ranks based on team size (2v2, 3v3, 4v4, and 5v5). These will be available once enough players are available to fill up matchmaking for all types, but at launch it will be 5v5 only, casual and ranked.
Will there be a single-player campaign?
Currently, Fireteam Breach is focused on competitive PvP gameplay, but we’re not ruling out a single-player campaign in the future.
How does the MMR system work?
The MMR algorithm takes into account your match performance, adjusting based on wins, losses, KD ratio, and factors like the type of match (e.g., Hard-Fought victories or Choked defeats). The system also accounts for players leaving mid-game, balancing the impact on those who remain. But we’re keeping some specifics under wraps.
Will Fireteam Breach have microtransactions?
Yes, there will be microtransactions in the game, but they will be purely cosmetic. These will not impact gameplay but will allow you to personalize your experience with skins and other visual enhancements.
What kind of customization options will be available?
Players will be able to customize operators, weapons, emotes, and drones. We aim to bring a variety of skins and visual options for personalization.
Will Fireteam Breach support mods?
We currently do not plan to support mods in Fireteam Breach.
How will destruction work in Fireteam Breach?
The destruction system will be physically accurate where wood splinters apart, dry wall breaks apart in patches, etc. You can make rotates, punch holes, foot holes, hatches, and reinforce walls. Essentially, everything you’ve seen in other tactical shooters, and more.
How does the ranked system work?
The ranked system will be a traditional grind, starting from the lowest rank and working your way to the top. Our matchmaking takes the average of your squad’s rank and matches you with others in the same range. Solo players will be matched against others with their rank, and the MMR system ensures that the player’s true skill level is reflected.
How does team play and strategy affect gameplay?
Teamwork and strategy will have a massive impact on the outcome of matches. Using different angles, overwhelming enemies, and coordinating with your team will be key to success.
What’s the plan for future updates?
We plan to follow a seasonal content schedule, where each season will bring new maps, operators, weapons, reworks, and more. Players can look forward to regular updates to keep the gameplay fresh. See the roadmap for each season.
Will there be any collaborations with streamers or content creators?
Yes, we want to work closely with streamers, providing charms and other incentives upon release. Streamers will also have the opportunity to be involved in the creative process, especially those with larger followings.
What are the minimum and recommended system requirements?
See the Steam page for the current minimum and recommended system requirements.
How can I report bugs or issues?
You can report bugs in the #bug-report channel on our Discord.
Will there be any tournaments or community events?
We do not have plans for tournaments or community events yet. Tournaments and competitions may be added after the game’s release.
Can I submit content for the game?
Yes, join our Discord and react to the asset Contributor message in #welcome, and you’ll be able to send in pictures of your dogs, cats, etc or voice recordings that may end up in the game!
